Fun Things To Do In Sudbury, Ontario: Your Complete Guide to Fun

Tired of the same old, same old? Sudbury has a lot to offer in terms of fun things to do. From festivals and events to family-friendly activities and outdoor adventures, there’s plenty for everyone in this city. In this post we’ll be talking about all the different types of entertainment that you can find here – no matter what your interests are!

Festivals and Events

Sudbury has a bunch of festivals to offer. The most well known are the Northern Lights Festival and Big Nickel Days, but other events like Santa’s Parade, Harvest Thanksgiving Weekend Celebration, or Hardwood Hills Children’s Fair all make for great fun too! There is something for everyone in this city – no matter what you’re into.

Still not satisfied? There are also plenty of events that happen throughout the year. From outdoor concerts and sports games to food festivals, there’s always something happening in Sudbury!

Family Friendly Activities

What better way to spend time with your family than by joining them at one of these awesome places? Take the kids on an adventure to either Wild Waterworks Centre or Science North (both free!), visit Kidtopia Discovery Village ($15), take a tour around Atikokan Hydroelectric Dam Museum and Visitors’ Centre ($14-$25), or have a picnic at The Forks Park. There are plenty of fun things to do with the family in Sudbury!

A few other options are the Sudbury Valley School Museum ($12), Seymour Lake Trail Hiking and Biking (free!), or the Science North Virtual Reality Experience Booth.

Outdoor Adventures

Outdoorsy types will love all that this city has to offer, from hiking up and down hills or biking along scenic routes to fishing on Lake Ramsey or hunting for fossils near Snake Island. No matter what type of outdoor adventure you’re looking for, there’s something here for everyone.

In addition to these options, there is also lots going on in downtown Sudbury – so be sure not miss out! From food trucks like Tasty Truck Tuesdays (free!) and Good Food Fridays ($12) to live music venues such as Big Nickel Bar & Grill (+18), Northern Lights Music Festival.

If you still haven’t gotten your outdoor fix, there’s still lots to do. Head over to Beartown Park for a swim, or visit the Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.

Fancy dining

Fun fact: Sudbury has been named one of the top ten places to dine in Ontario. From restaurants like El Mexicana Restaurant (open until 12am) and La Grotta Ristorante Italiano (+18), there’s always something for everyone no matter what you’re looking for!

If that doesn’t sound good, check out some of these other options – Mud Creek Winery & Bistro, Hungry Heifer Café, or The Savoy Pub & Grill. There is food everywhere here in this city!
