Victoria, BC is rated the cycling capital of Canada (Statistics Canada 2006) and what better way to experience the relaxed pace of Island life, than from a bike? Cycle Treks offers both guided and self guided touring options that fit the whole family. Both the single and multi-day tours are suitable for children 10 and older, with many customizable options for kids 9 and under.
The Seaside Touring Route is one of the most popular tours and covers essential Victoria highlights. This guided, full-day tour (approximately 7 hours), follows some of Victoria’s best cycling routes along Victoria’s stunningly beautiful waterfront through the historic neighbourhood of James Bay, Beacon Hill Park and Mount Douglas Park. The tour stops for lunch in the Village of Cadboro Bay before connecting with the Galloping Goose Trail to take cyclists back to downtown Victoria through local farms, past bird sanctuaries and over trestle bridges.
The seaside tour is offered daily May through October, includes lunch and costs $99 CDN ($79 US*). Cycle Treks also offers Victoria City, Cowichan Valley Winery, The Butchart Gardens, Port of Sidney and West Coast Adventure (Sooke Hills) cycle tours as well as multi-day tours of Southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
