At T.O. TIX you’ll find same-day discount, week-of discount and full-price advance tickets, for shows in and outside of Toronto. After New York and London Toronto has the largest number of live theatre performance in the world. They run from the world premiere of Lord of the Rings at the Princess of Wales Theatre to Toronto’s off Broadway production of Gabriel’s Kitchen at Buddies In Bad Times Theatre.
To attend these theatres as well as dance, opera, comedy, music and special events you can book through T.O. TIX, virtually or in person. T.O.TIX is totally owned and operated by the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA). T.O.TIX primarily raises revenue for TAPA and TAPA member companies by selling tickets. TAPA is a not-for-profit service organization representing over 180 theatre, dance, comedy and music companies in the city, as well as promoting performing arts overall.
If you are buying in-person at the T.O. TIX booth you will find a friendly and very knowledgeable sales person to help you. T.O. TIX’s booth is located directly on the southeast corner of Yonge and Dundas, in Dundas Square right across the street from downtown Toronto’s large downtown mall called the Toronto Eaton Centre. This booth is similar to booths in New York’s Times Square, London’s Leicester Square and Vancouver’s downtown tourist information centre.
T.O. TIX’s hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, Noon to 6:30PM.
You may care to buy your tickets before hand on the Internet and you will find T.O. TIX’s informative web site at www.totix.ca The T.O. TIX website is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. New shows generally go on sale at regular price or become available at a discounted price at 12noon, Tuesday through Saturday. The day of the show, Internet sales are only available until 6pm, giving the venue box office adequate time to assess that evening’s sales.
When in Toronto you can also call the T.O.TIX Infoline (416-536-6468×40), to receive a recorded message listing the shows that are on sale. This is a dedicated phone line that lists all the shows that are discounted and full-price tickets for that day, for the rest of the week and also in advance. If time permits, this message is further updated to reflect any new productions that are released for sale later that same day. This message is recorded by 12 noon, Tuesday to Saturday.
T.O.TIX can help you further since it is also an official ticket outlet for TicketKing, ShopDineTour Toronto, Gray Line Sightseeing and the Ontario Science Centre.
