3 Vancouver Festivals to Look Forward To

By Tammy · On September 14, 2018

Fall in Vancouver is absolutely stunning. The treeline changes colour, pumpkin spice is everywhere, and fall festival season consumes the city. Public festivals in Vancouver are always a good time, the city loves to celebrate and the locals love to party– even past summer! Here’s a quick list of a few Vancouver festivals I think should be on everyone’s radar this fall, and I hope you get a chance to drop by one of these fall festivals!

Vancouver Fashion Week, September 17th-23rd

Clearly a very chic week, Fashion Week is a lovely way to explore and challenge fashion on the streets of Vancouver. Head over to Chinatown to view pieces by talented local designers, and there’s always going to be models walking down a runway to showcase some stunning pieces. At the end of Van Fashion Week, elegant galas will be held where the most fashionable people in the city will come out to show their stuff.

Vancouver International Writer’s Festival, October 15th-21st

Vancouver has a vibrant arts scene, and puts out some of the best literary creations in Canada. This year, over 100 authors will be attending the International Writer ‘s Festival this year. Held on the gorgeous Granville Island with fringe events across Vancouver, authors will hold panels, talks, and other events to showcase their work and encourage discourse surrounding some of the most important things happening in Canada and the world.

Vancouver Asian Film Festival, November 1st-4th

The longest-running Asian film festival in Canada has its home in Vancouver, and 2018 promises big things. The festival was organized to celebrate the diversity and strength that lies in Asian cultures, and to explore the various cultural identities that emerge in film and media. The festival helps Asian filmmakers and actors express themselves and provide representation for their community.
