Canada really is a country of festivals, there’s something going on no matter where you are and what time of the year it is. Ontario’s got loads of events happening this summer, and one of the most anticipated events of the year is the Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival. This free festival celebrates jazz music over three days, with amazing Canadian jazz musicians and performers playing live music for the public to enjoy.
Running for the 26th season in a row, the Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival has been attracting people from all over the country for years. This year, they’re expecting over 35,000 to show up! With so many people, you’d expect parking to be horrendously expensive, but parking at the UpTown Parkage is free at certain times of the day! You can park for free after 4 on the 21st, and all day on both Saturday and Sunday!
The festival will showcase Canadian jazz talent from all over the country, and the lineup is really impressive. Francisco Pais “Lusitano,” a very talented guitarist, is one of the acts that I’m personally looking forward to. Another great artist that I’m looking forward to seeing is Ted Warren, a Canadian drummer who is well-known for his energetic drumming performances. Ted’s Warren Commission can be heard all over Toronto, and they’ll be accompanying Ted to Waterloo this summer.
The festival runs on July 20th til the 22nd, and you can find out how to get to the festival by following the directions on the festival website!
