Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Niagara

By Tammy · On December 14, 2018

Niagara Falls is one of the most happening places to be no matter what you’re celebrating, and there’s a reason why it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. And if you know anything about Niagara, you’ll know that the Canadian side is the better side! This year, New Year’s Eve in Niagara is set to be a grand affair, with things set in motion from 10 AM! Here’s a little bit of what to expect on New Year’s Eve in Niagara, and hopefully you’ll get a chance to head out there this December to be a part of the festivities.

There will be a free concert at Queen Victoria park at around 8 PM, with all sorts of great Canadian talent. We’re expecting The Sheepdogs, Avenue Inn, Burton Cummings, and many other artists to perform on New Year’s Eve. There will also be lots of food trucks and stalls available, giving you lots of options to choose from when you get hungry or thirsty. It won’t be a dry event, either, as there will be an outdoor licensed area should you want to have a drink at the party. There will also be two firework displays at the event: one at 9 PM, and another at midnight to bring in 2019. New Year’s Eve in Niagara wouldn’t be the spectacle that it is without the fireworks, they really are dazzling!

The city has gone to great lengths to ensure that people can stay safe and warm at the party, so there are lots of places for you to warm up or use the bathroom if you need to. Queen Victoria Place, right across the street from the park, will be open with access to bathrooms as well as a restaurant and Tim Horton’s. There will also be two WEGO buses outside the building to offer visitors another place to keep warm. To find out more about the event’s programming and to find out how to get to Queen Victoria park, visit the city’s website here.
