The Most Impressive Ice Hockey Stadiums in Canada

By Faisal · On February 18, 2021

Ice Hockey is a staple of Canadian entertainment; and if you are a big sports fan visiting Canada, you are in luck! Canada is home to some of the most impressive sporting stadiums in the world, and their ice hockey venues tend to be particularly remarkable.

Ice Hockey and Canada

As one of Canada’s national sports, ice hockey and the NHL, in particular, attract a lot of spectators. It’s also one of the most popular sports for Canadians to bet on, with the majority of sportsbooks offering odds on NHL games. For example, a long casino bonus post from Bonus.ca details how you can find a list of online casinos and sportsbooks that offer sign-up bonuses and free spins. The high number of online casinos and bookies available highlights the growing popularity of sports betting and casino games in Canada – so it’s no surprise watching the games live is a major attraction!

It’s usually a dream of any sports fanatic to visit the most iconic stadiums and witness a game being played live. So, whether you are a fan of watching ice hockey or betting on it, it’s worth visiting the most impressive ice hockey stadiums whilst in Canada.

Bell Centre, Montreal

Home of the Montreal Canadians, the Bell Centre is arguably the most impressive ice hockey arena in the world. The Bell Centre contains 21,302 seats, giving the stadium the largest capacity in the NHL. As the Montreal Canadians are the most successful franchise in NHL history, it’s no surprise that their stadium attracts a lot of attention. It originally opened in 1996 and has since held multiple events in addition to the ice hockey games. You can check any upcoming games or events being held at the Bell Centre through their website.

Scotiabank Arena, Toronto

As the capital of Canada, Toronto has a large selection of venues to visit, however, none are more impressive than the Scotiabank Arena. The stadium is home to the Toronto Maple Leafs and is the second-highest capacity venue in Canada behind the Bell Centre. What makes the arena even more impressive, is that the Maple Leafs share the occupancy with the Toronto Raptors, Canadas only NBA team. This makes the stadium a must-visit for ice hockey and basketball fans alike!

Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary

The Scotiabank Saddledome is one of the oldest stadiums used in the NHL, having originally been built in 1983. The stadium is located in Calgary, Alberta and is home to the Calgary Flames team. The appeal in this arena is down to the uniqueness of its layout, as the roof is shaped like a horse saddle. The layout of the stadium is inspired by the city’s western heritage, making it an eye-catching landmark for anyone who also enjoys unique architecture.
