If you’ve been following this website for any amount of time, you’ll know that I love Collingwood. With something for everyone, the town is known for Blue Mountain and its ski slopes as well as the spectacular fireworks displays held for almost any and every occasion. Christmas time in Collingwood is a magical time of year, and Collingwood’s Santa Claus parade is a heartwarming event that the whole family can enjoy.
This year’s parade theme focuses on the meaning of Christmas. The parade is always held in the early evening so that those in attendance can enjoy the Christmas lights strung up all along downtown Collingwood. There will be reindeer in training, carolers lining the streets, a holiday run, and lots of fireworks—I told you, the town doesn’t need an excuse for fireworks!
Stores will have open houses, and almost every business in town takes part in this parade. Floats from all sorts of non-profit organizations and community groups will be part of the parade, and when everything is ready to go, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony will also begin. Collingwood really jams the holiday season with lots of events and festivities, so Collingwood’s Santa Claus Parade is something you won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars for November 17th at 5 PM, and head out to Downtown Collingwood and follow the carolers!
