Florence and the Machine coming to Toronto this October

By Tammy · On September 5, 2018

Florence Welch and her band are amazing artists, and fans always go on about how brilliant her shows are. Concertgoers adore the intimate nature of her performances, and her energetic and overwhelming stage presence. She cares about her fans, often returning to perform an encore at the request of the audience, and her humility and surprise every time is certainly humbling. The High As Hope Tour lands her in Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena this October, and if you’ve never been to a Florence and the Machine concert, of if you find yourself visiting the city just for her, you’ve probably made one of the best decisions of your life.

The new album, High as Hope, will have its tracks showcased at the concert. Florence will also have very big names behind her to open her shows, including Beth Ditto and Wet. The Toronto show will have her performing with Grizzly Bear, and American rock band from Brooklyn, New York. If you’ve ever seen a FATM show, you’ll know to expect big and beautiful things, and with such talented artists accompanying the main show, things will be even better than you expect.

Right now, Ticketmaster is selling tickets to the October 16th Florence and the Machine show for between about $100 CAD and $700 CAD. If you visit local Facebook groups, or even the event pages, you may get lucky and score tickets for significantly cheaper. The Scotiabank Arena itself is fairly easy to get to and is located on Bay Street, which is accessible with public transit. Parking nearby can be a bit iffy, but the Arena is close to locations with over 10,000 public parking spots. While the Arena does have underground parking, it’s reserved for staff and special guests.
