Every year, people enter the New Year with a bright, shiny list full of resolutions. One of the most common resolutions is a commitment to work out more.
Making that resolution is easy. You really, really believe it when the words come out of your mouth. You believe it when you hand over your credit card for your new gym membership and set your alarm clock for 5 a.m. on that first day back to work so that you can get a workout in before heading to the office.
Actually following through on a workout resolution is hard. When you’re not used to working out and sweating, it’s easy to cut your routine short. It’s also easy to procrastinate and make excuses about why you can’t make it to the gym on any given day.
This year, I’ve found that it helps to find new and interesting ways to motivate yourself to get in there and actually follow through on the resolution you made to yourself on January 1st. One idea is to reward yourself with a small something after so many workouts. Maybe treating yourself to a coffee shop coffee after five full workouts?
Another great motivator is new workout wear. There are a lot of cool and attractive brands on the market these days, but one that’s really caught my attention is Fabletics, a line designed by Kate Hudson. They’ve got a full selection of tops, bottoms, shoes, and workout accessories. I especially love their comfortable and stylish leggings. They’re affordable and very high-quality, which has resulted in them scoring amazing reviews from hordes of very happy customers.
Add me to the crowd of people giving Fabletics a huge thumbs up. With my new workout attire, I feel more motivated than ever to get out and actually use it. Combine that with little treats along the way (margaritas with friends after 10 workouts!) and I think I’ll be able to stick with this workout thing for quite some time.
